- Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Amendment to Furlough Scheme cut-off dates: Employees’ eligibility for entry to the ‘Furlough’ Scheme has always been based on cut-off dates, changes to which have previously been incorporated into the inner workings of CleanLink Site Manager to avoid the likelihood of user error. The most recent extension of the Furlough Scheme to the end of March 2021 has brought another change to this cut-off date, such that eligibility for claims has been extended to those employees who were on an employer’s PAYE payroll by 23:59 on 30th October 2020. This means a Real Time Information (RTI) submission notifying payment for that employee to HMRC must have been made on or before 30th October 2020.Given the possibility that the scheme might be extended more times in the future, we have taken the decision not to incorporate this or any future changes to these cut-off dates into the product and instead to rely on our users’ discretion as to which employees can be furloughed, based on their employment start date / previous pay date(s).Please take care to ensure that you do not place employees on furlough who have not previously been notified to HMRC via RTI in time to qualify for entry into this or any future extension to the scheme. Please note that the 7.11.6 installation routine will automatically amend the Scheme End Date to 31/03/2021, but you will be able to amend this yourself in future, should any further extension to the scheme be announced.
- Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Reclaim Report: The extension of the CJRS Scheme means that employers will be able to continue to make claims through to March 2021. The Furlough Reclaim report, found within Pay Cycles> H. Reports> AB – Furlough Reclaim, now directs users to the ‘Furlough Reclaim (August onwards)’ report which can also be accessed via the Reports tab and includes the HMRC format of the report required for making claims. The previous reclaim report would handle the different rates through August, i.e. no ER’s NIC/Pension, September (70%) and October (60%), but it has now been amended again following the latest government announcement that stated that the August rules will apply from November until such a time they are reviewed – i.e. back up to 80% but with no ER’s NICs or pension.
