- Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Furlough Reclaim Report: HMRC has changed their requirements in relation to Furlough claim periods. From July 2020, claims must be for dates within a CALENDAR MONTH, not in line with PAY PERIODS. A new report has been created to accommodate these changes, accessed by going to Reports tab> Payroll tab> Furlough Reclaim (Jul/Aug/Sept/Oct)
Where a pay period fits within the calendar month. the full furlough value (subject to 70%/60% reductions in Sep/Oct) may be claimed.Where a pay period overlaps the start or end of the calendar month, an apportionment must be made to align the pay period to the claim period. In these circumstances, more than one claim will be needed to capture the entirety a given pay period. For example: a pay period that runs from 20th July to 19th August would have to be claimed in a minimum of 2 parts, one part dated to the end of July and the other part dated (say) to the 19th August. However, please take extra care to ensure you take into account all of the cycles that you need to claim for before submitting a claim, to ensure you correctly capture all of the cycles as necessary that fall within the date range you are claiming for.Note; for claims made from August that pertain to earlier pay periods – this new report will automatically reclaim the proportion of ER’s NI and ER’s Pension as is applicable, up to the 31st July 2020 cut-off date. From August onwards, ER’s NI and ER’s Pension contributions are no longer reclaimable.
- Furlough Override Amount: Flexible Furlough, Pro Rata: A new check box has been introduced to allow the user to decide whether to pro rata an override amount when an employee is on flexible furlough.
Currently, when an override amount is entered for an employee who is on flexible furlough, this amount will be automatically adjusted in line with flexible furlough calc. In some instances, such as when an employee is on paternity leave, the user may not wish this amount to be adjusted. Ticking this new field in Staff> Furloughed Staff> Eligible Pay or in the pop up window when entering an override in the pay cycle the calc will no longer pro rata the amount for this employee. The employee will receive whatever is entered by the user, subject to the cap.
- Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Furlough Reclaim Report: Previously, upon entering a date range, this report would include Pay Periods whose calendar week numbers fell strictly within that range. This could cause confusion owing to the way Pay Cycles align to calendar dates – for instance, a report date that specified 1st of July could miss a 4 weekly July Pay Cycle that happened to start on a date in late June, if the 1st of July fell into the 2nd week of the 4 weekly cycle and not the 1st week. The report has been amended to account for this scenario.CL-Changes-for-v7.11.4
